Tourist attractions in
Brussels |

Brussels awaits its
visitors a large variety
of tourist attractions
one can choose from.
Surrounded by the city
tower and some
beautiful, antique
building the Grand-Place
(Grote Markt) is one of
the perfect highlights
to start your visit.

You must try out the
delicious ‘Gauffre
Liègoise-Luikse wafel’
(waffle with caramelized
sugar) the best you have
ever tasted from the
little shop on the
corner. Some evenings a
music and light show is
offered, but even if you
are not so lucky to
catch it, be sure to
visit the Place at
night, because it is
awesome! Not far from
there you will come
across Manneken Pis, a
small bronze statue
thought to represent the
"irreverent spirit" of
Brussels. Further on,
check out the Arc de
Triomphe-Triomfboog,
located in Parc du
Cinquantenaire-Jubelpark,
and if possible go up to
the terrace in order to
enjoy a magnificent view
of the whole city.

Built in 1958 for
Brussels Word Fair, the
Atomium has become the
most popular tourist
attractions of Brussels.
Symbolizing a unit cell
of iron crystal
magnified 165 billion
times, the top sphere
offers a breathtaking
view over the city of
Brussels. |

Brussels also offers
several museums that are
worthy of a visit. The
Musées royaux d'Art et
d'Histoire( Koninklijke
Musea voor Kunst en
Geschiedenis ), the
Musées Royaux des Beaux
Arts( Koninklijke Musea
voor Schone Kunsten)
featuring both
historical and modern
art are highlights. One
can discover here works
from Pieter Breughel
(Adoration of the Magi),
Rubens, Van Dyck,
Rembrandt as well as a
collection including
pieces from Van Gogh,
Matisse, Dali, Chagall,
Miró and many more. The
Musée Belvue located in
the former 18th century
luxury hotel that was
also a royal residence,
offers exhibitions
having as subject the
history of Belgium.
The Natural Sciences
Museum of Belgium is
also a famous tourist
attraction, known for
its famous collection of
iguanodons (dinosaurs)
and the Horta Museum,
the home of the well
known architect and
designer Victor Horta,
in order to get
acquainted with the art
nouveau style in
Brussels. Offering some
remarkable collections
of ethnographic objects
from Central Africa
together with the
archives of Henry Morton
Stanley the Royal Museum
for Central Africa can
not be left out when
visiting Brussels. For
film lovers the best
place would be the
Musée du
Cinéma-Filmmuseum, to
see the history of
film-making and watch
some classic and cult
film at a low price.
