London sightseeing

London attractions by Favio Bolano No doubt an unforgettable experience, this amazing city will certainly make your trip special and memorable. Enjoy every minute, try to see as much as you can, discover its hidden streets and just go with the flow. No matter what you are searching for, London has it on offer.
One of its icons, the beautiful 19th century Tower Bridge provides a magnificent view from the top and it  is a great place to start. Nearby the fascinating Tower of London, the cities original royal fortress by the Thames provides enough to do for a whole day. With several exhibitions, the 900 years old exquisite fortress, which contains the Crown Jewels, guarded by Beefeaters has become World Heritage.

Over the centuries, England’s royal family has added much to London’s amazing  scenery.  The Buckingham Palace, the official London residence of the Queen, is absolutely gorgeous and it is certainly on the top of the ‘must see’ list.

The world famous Westminster Abbey and the Palace of Westminster, the Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament are the first things that come to our mind when it comes to London so do not miss them. On the South Bank of the Thames, the world’s largest observation wheel, the London Eye grants a breathtaking view over the whole city. Built after the 1666 Great Fire of London, the St. Paul’s Cathedral is absolutely stunning  with an excellent acoustic, try it out! Further on,  a visit to  Kensington Palace, Albert Memorial and the Royal Albert Hall must all be included in a trip.

Trafalgar Square, since not long a pedestrian are, it is known as the center of London, housing Nelson's Column and the lions, and being the home temporarily  to a Marc Quin sculpture, 'Alison Lapper Pregnant'.  In London one can find some of the most outstanding museums and galleries in the world. Culture and history are well represented in the British Museum or in the Museum of London.

Though London is known to be quite expensive, some of its best museums such as the Tate Modern, Tat Britain, National Gallery, and National Portrait Gallery as most museums in Greenwich  are free. After all the knowledge that museums provide a little fresh air is always needed and for this, take a stroll in one of London’s many parks; wonder around  the beautiful St James Park and Hyde Park.
