Berlin attractions by Favio Bolano The magnificent city of Berlin, offers a wide range of tourist attractions starting with a vast collection of Museums to beautiful parks, making a holiday certainly worth while. Museumsinsel (“Museum Island) is the place best known for Pergamon-Museum, housing a large collection of ancient Greek, Middle-Eastern and Islamic art and architecture, the Altes Museum with is amazing Egyptian and antique collection, the Alte Nationalgalerie, Bode Museum, known for its magnificent sculpture collection.
If you are interested in history or simply wish to know more the Deutches Historisches Museum and the Jüdisches Museum give you a great inside into the history of the country and the Jews in Berlin. The open-air museum, Topography of Terror gives you a clear picture of what happened in the Nazi regime, consisting of excavated prison cells under the ruins of the Berlin Wall, it is certainly worth a trip. Keep in mind, Museums are closed on Monday!

As Berlin is considered to be a city of art, you will find many art galleries on your way. Whether you are looking for modern or classical art. The Gemäldegalerie awaits its visitors with thousands of European paintings, including works from Dürer, Raffael, Tizian, Caravaggio, Rembrandt and Rubens. The Neue Nationalgalerie, the Art Center Berlin Friedrichstraße, and the Galerie Eigen & Art also possess a large collection worthy of your attention.

Some interesting and architecturally remarkable churches in Berlin are: Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, Marienkirche with the highest church tower, Nikolaikirche, the oldest church, and Berliner Dom, surly the most impressive church.

Berlin has lot of landmark buildings and monuments with observation decks; the most famous is the TV Tower, with a rotating café at the top, perfect place to enjoy a magnificent view. If you are in the city it is not allowed to miss a visit to the Glass dome of the Reichstag, the Berlin Wall Memorial and Checkpoint Charlie which will have great impact on you. The Staatsoper Unter den Linden and the Philharmonie are two of the most beautiful buildings that will surly impress any visitor.

If you want to enjoy nature, just take a stroll in the Tiergarten, Victoria park or Schlosspark Charlottenburg with a fascinating Chinese, Korean, Oriental and Japanese gardens to relax in. The Berlin Zoo awaits its visitors with the widest range of species in the world as well as with an Aquarium with amazing variety of fishes and crocodiles. However you may spend your days in Berlin; it will be a memorable trip!
