In order to take your time and have some freedom purchase a 7 day Pass for €22, which will  get you in some of the major attractions of Rome, as the Colosseum , Palatine Hill, the Baths of Caracalla , the catacombs, Terme di Diocleziano, Palazza Massimo alle Terme, Crypta Balbi, Palazzo Altemps, Villa dei Quintili, Tomba di Cecilia Metella.

One can not skip a visit to the  Pantheon  and awesome sight of ancient architecture, still a functioning church, further on, the ruins of the ancient Roman archives, Tabularium, the Circus Maximus and the Fori Imperiali  providing a breath taking view over the city from the top.

Museums are something that Rome  has plenty of, all exciting and unique. The Vatican Museum is the most renowned, embracing the  Sistine Chapel with Michelangelo’s eminent frescos.  The Capitoline Museums with its  vast collection including  classical art, and  the legendary bronze wolf,  Palazzo Massimo, with and outstanding collection of ancient sculptures, mosaics and wall paintings, Galleria Borghese, and  Villa Giulia Museum, with an all-embracing collection of Etruscan art  are just a few of many  remarkable museums.

Perhaps the most fascinating buildings  is Castle Sant'Angelo, though we must not leave out Palazzo Venezia,Palazzo Farnese, Palazzo de la Sapienza  which are  absolutely amazing.

Astonishing churches, abundantly  decorated is something you will not miss in Rome. Note that you have to be dressed appropriately in order to be allowed in! Come to be known as the most exceptional church in the world, the  St Peter's Basilica is alone worth the whole trip! San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane, San Pietro in Vincoli, Santa Maria Maggiore, San Giovanni in Laterano the cathedral church of Rome, with a magnificent baptistery and medieval cloister, and the Il Gesł  are just some of the many noteworthy  basilicas that should not be left out. In search of something macabre, try the Capuchin Monastery decorated with the bones of dead monks exciting and bizarre at the same time!

Rome is also full of Piazzas, everywhere you go, do not forget to look around as they are all beautiful. Piazza di Trevi, with the world famous Fountain, Piazza Venezia, Piazza del Campidoglio,  among many others make your trip truly enjoyable!
