Ankara’s rich cultural heritage, amazing surroundings make it truly a
pleasure to just stroll around and enjoy all the beauties it has to
offer. However, if you do not have comfortable walking shoes or you
lack time and still wish to see the most of the city you can always
choose to go by public transport. |

Public transportation in Ankara is mainly
operated by Electricity or Gas. A good axample is the Bus General
Directorate (EGO). The city is pretty well covered by a public bus
network, and it also operates a two-line subway and a suburban rail.
The two lines of the subway are known by the name of Ankaray (Light
Metro) and Ankara Metro.
Operating since 1997, al stations are
very modern providing a fast and comfortable way of moving around the
city. The Ankaray runs from Asti (Ankara’s Intercity Bus Terminal) to
Dikimevi operating 11 rains through 11 stations, while the Ankara goes
from Kizilay (city center) to Batikent suburb in the northwest.
If
you wish to see the surroundings of the capital, check out the Ankara
Intercity Bus Terminal, operating dense bus network covering the whole
neighborhood or take one of the high –speed trains from the central
train station, "Ankara Garı".
